Crazy Mountain Amber Ale was named after a mountain on the Selvy Family’s ranch in Central Colorado. “Loco Mountain” translates from Spanish to “Crazy Mountain,” and this beer is crazy good. This delightfully floral American style Amber Ale displays a wonderful balance while still maintaining a profound hoppy goodness. We load this beer with a ridiculous and obscene amount of West Coast hops that are added late in the boil, resulting in a hoppy beer without any bitterness.
Enjoy an introduction to the crazy side with Sheamus, the oldest resident of Crazy Mountain. He monitors the quality of the river with his sharp eyesight so that only the purest water makes it into Crazy Mountain brews. He's bold but agreeable, and surprisingly clean. And since Sheamus loves all food, be sure to join him for dinner.
Explore the mountains while enjoying a glacial-stream-cooled brew -- calories, hydration and fun! Remember to pack out what you pack in and take altitude into account.
Start the hike in Minturn, just south of the Holy Cross Ranger Station. This trail is an old forest road and climbs gradually through large open meadows and aspen forests. Enjoy the views of the Gore Range from the small cabin at the end of the trail as you crack open a Crazy Mountain Amber Ale. Directions to the trailhead
